Applications for grant funding from a West Australian government financed health and medical innovation seed fund close on 2 May.
The grants in the range $250,000-$500,000 are to be awarded to West Australian early-stage companies to complete technology development or commercialisation through to a stage at which commercial investment is likely.
The grants are to be provided under the Innovation Seed Fund 2022 of the Western Australian Future Health Research & Innovation Fund and will be administered by the Research and Innovation Office at the Western Australian Department of Health.
Eligible activities include proof of feasibility, proof of value or preliminary innovation validation. Funding may be used for salaries of up to a total of $150,000 a year. Funded activities will need to be completed within a two-year period. Research and clinical trials will not be funded.
