New Zealand venture capital firm Alt Ventures has taken a stake in Wellington-based online games developer Synty Studios.
Alt Ventures managing partner Chris Jagger said Synty founders Andrew Stairs and Mike Clephane have already built their company, which was established in 2014, into a globally recognised, market leading, online games publisher.
Set up in 2019, Alt Ventures started out as an advisor and investor in the gaming and creative media sector. The firm raised New Zealand’s first and, to date, only specialist games studios and games technology venture investment fund in 2021.
Alt Ventures is backing at least nine New Zealand games studios.
